Today, 11 February 2026 - Acadia University will be closing at 5:30pm due to the forecasted weather conditions. All classes scheduled to start at 5:30pm and later are canceled. Students and employees are not expected to come to campus. Only employees deemed essential are required to report to work. Residence buildings and Wheelock Dining Hall will be operational.

Earth and Environmental Science at Acadia offers programs leading to B.Sc. degrees in Environmental Science, Geology and Environmental Geoscience, and M.Sc. degrees in Geology, Environmental Science and Applied Geomatics.

Mitch Maracle, a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, was named today as one of only 20 recipients (from a pool of close to 800) of the $10,000 per year (for up to four years) RBC Indigenous Youth Scholarship.
