Mineral Deposits course field trip

Students of the mineral deposits course took part in a two-day weekend field trip looking at mineral deposits in NS. The first day was spent looking at the Brazil Lake Pegmatite, investigating the occurrence of spodumene mineralization within the pegmatite.

The second day took place on the South shore looking at the relationship between pegmatite and aplite in the South Mountain Batholith at Chebucto Head and Peggy's Cove, and finishing the day looking at a saddle-reef anticline environment at Rose Bay (not far from The Ovens).
