The 2018 recipients of the Arthur Irving Scholarships in Environmental Studies have been announced. Sarah Lavallée from West Vancouver, BC, and Alex Hart from St. Stephen, NB, will start their studies in Environmental Science at Acadia in September.

Dr. Alice Cohen received significant awards and funding this summer, being recognised with a Faculty of Pure and Applied Science Emerging Scholar award and receiving an $11,000 Harrison McCain emerging scholar award for her project “Understanding the Role of Technology in Community Based Monitoring”.

Four Acadia members participated in the Resources for Future Generations (RFG2018) conference, held under the auspices of the International Union of Geological Sciences and organized by Canadian geoscience organizations.
