Earth and Environmental Science at Acadia offers programs leading to B.Sc. degrees in Environmental Science, Geology and Environmental Geoscience, and M.Sc. degrees in Geology, Environmental Science and Applied Geomatics.
Acadia Geology MSc student Amanda Smith recently visited Gaspereau Valley Elementary School to assist a combined grade 3 and 4 class in their study unit on rocks, including the 3 different types of rocks and the rock cycle.
The Inn on Prince was bursting with geoscientists from across Atlantic Canada this past weekend. A huge thank you to the undergraduate and graduate students who attended. Special shout out to those students who presented talks and posters: Rachel Everest, Amanda Smith, Monet Streit, Jessica Beckwith, Parker Ingham, Yuzhe Gan, Rowan Norrad, and Cameron Greaves.
Jesse Demaries-Smith, Cameron Greaves, and Keaton Markham will represent Acadia at SIFT and S-IMEW in May 2023. SIFT (Student Industry Field Trip) and S-IMEW (Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop) are both two-week-long field trips providing valuable industry exposure and experience.
