McIntosh Scholarships 4 year degree program (a total of 5 available)
The CIM Foundation is offering five scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in a 4 year degree program in the field of mining engineering in Canada with a special emphasis on underground mining. Winners are selected on the basis of eligibility and must be enrolled full time in their second year of an eligible undergraduate program.   These students can then apply for additional support in their 3rd and 4th year of study, for a value of $12,000 providing they meet the four requirements listed in the Scholarships Structure on the application form.
McIntosh Scholarships 3 year technical program (a total of 3 available)
The CIM Foundation is offering three scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students enrolled in a 3 year technical program in the field of mining engineering in Canada with a special emphasis on underground mining. Winners are selected on the basis of eligibility and must be enrolled full time in their second year of a three year program  of an eligible undergraduate program. These students can then apply for additional support in their 3rd year of study, for a value of $5,000 providing they meet the four requirements listed in the Scholarships Structure on the application form.
McIntosh Application Process Application Form  Deadline to apply is October 15, 2017
For both McIntosh scholarships, the application process is simple, students only need to:
. complete the application form
. provide a transcript of their previous years’ academic studies
. provide a brief resume of past education and work experience
. include a letter of support from one of their 1st year’s instructors
. provide a confirmation that they are still enrolled in a mining program and
. prepare an essay describing what attracted them to the mining industry and what the applicant expects that they will do in the industry.

Taking Flight Scholarship (a total of 2 available)
The CIM Foundation’s Taking Flight Scholarships was established to encourage Aboriginal high school and post-secondary students wishing to pursue a career in mining. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to qualifying students across Canada.
Taking Flight Application Process Application Form Deadline to apply is October 15, 2017
The application process is simple, students only need to:
. complete the application form
. provide a transcript of their previous years’ academic studies
. 2 recommendations from a teacher, elder or community leader
. prepare a 400 word essay.

Field Course funding

A field school fund is available to assist students to participate in field work and field experiences. Any student enrolled in a program in the department may make application to the fund once a year, stating their needs and the benefits they anticipate to gain from the field work or field experience. Applications should be directed to the department head.
