St Andrew Goldfields Ltd (SAS) seeks to fill new grad positions in Geology / Mineral Exploration. Students with backgrounds in in Geology and Geophysics streams are preferred. SAS is aggressively exploring for gold deposits in the Timmins-Matheson-Kirkland Lake camp of the Abitibi granite-greenstone belt, northeastern Ontario. The successful candidates will be based in Matheson and will work under the supervision of SAS Geologists on our diamond drilling projects. Responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to logging of diamond drill core (identification and documentation of rock types, mineralogy, etc.), geotechnical measurements, data entry and compilation, and day to day field chores related to the drilling program.

Field Course funding

A field school fund is available to assist students to participate in field work and field experiences. Any student enrolled in a program in the department may make application to the fund once a year, stating their needs and the benefits they anticipate to gain from the field work or field experience. Applications should be directed to the department head.
