Entry from Sir Sandford Fleming College

For many years, we have accepted students from Sir Sandford Fleming College, originally from the Mineral Technology program, and more recently from the Earth Resources technician and the Ecosystem Management Technology programs. SSFC students can transfer up to two years of the program to Acadia, on a course by course basis. Some of the transfer courses we use are listed below. If you are interested in this opportunity to upgrade your SSFC diploma to a degree, please contact Rob Raeside who will ask for a transcript of your Fleming courses and prepare a recommendation for transfer.

The dagger (†) indicates courses not recommended for transfer, as students are better to retake them at Acadia.

Fleming transfer students can also receive credit at Acadia for:

  • COOP1902 for the first 420 hours of Co-op completed at Fleming verified via documentation from Fleming or pay stubs
  • COOP2902 for the second 420 hours of Co-op completed at Fleming verified via documentation from Fleming or pay stubs

The Earth and Environmental Science Department will assess which courses, to a maximum of 60 credit hours, can be transferred from Fleming to Acadia. Fleming transfer students completing a Co-op degree must complete COOP3902 in the summer after their first year at Acadia in order to graduate. Should a Co-op work term not be secured, students can opt out of the Co-op option with their degree and retroactively transfer another course from Fleming (pending approval from the Earth and Environmental Science Department) to graduate on time.
