Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop 2026
S-IMEW is an all expenses paid, two-week workshop involving 26 undergraduate students from all over Canada, and over 70 industry volunteers. One student is chosen from each university in Canada with a geoscience program. The workshop includes mine visits, workshops, field mapping, core logging, equipment demonstrations, and networking. It also includes several field trips to important exploration areas and students get to learn from and interact with mining professionals in all areas of exploration and mining.
Congratulations Zailynne!
Zailynne writes: "S-IMEW gave me the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry during an action packed two weeks where nearly every day we were introduced to a new aspect of the mining and exploration industry, all while getting to meet and hang out with an awesome group of really cool people! I am so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the 2026 S-IMEW cohort. The things I learned, experiences I had, and especially the friends and connections I made will stick with me for the rest of my career in geology!"
