Mining Society of Nova Scotia Centennial Award to Mitch Maracle

Congratulations to Mitch Maracle, recipient of the Mining Society of Nova Scotia Centennial Award. This award is provided to the graduating student with the highest marks in Geology. Mitch came to Acadia from Sir Sandford Fleming College two years ago, and has completed an honours BSc in Geology. He wrote his thesis on Automated Sinkhole Delineation using LiDAR in the Cumberland Basin, Nova Scotia. After graduation, Mitch is embarking on a MSc degree, under the supervision of Ian Spooner on terroir analysis and climate adaptability of vineyards.

While the award was issued at the time of Graduation Convocation in early May, Mitch was participating on the Student-Industry Field Trip in Calgary, so received the certificate and $1000 award upon his return to campus.
