Huggins Science Speaker, Dr. John Smol

The Earth and Environmental Science Department was delighted to host the 2022 Huggins Science Lecturer, Dr. John Smol from Queen's University, Ontario.

Dr. Smol gave a lecture to a packed classroom of students of Environmental Science, Geology and Biology on "'Aquatic Osteoporosis' and the 'Jellification of Lakes': Some Surprising Long-term Legacies of Acid Rain" and later in the evening a public lecture to a highly appreciative audience in Huggins Science Hall 10 on "The Power of the Past: Tracking Lake Ecosystem Changes in an Anthropocene World."
