FPAS Teaching Award for Dr. David McMullin!
This week Dr. David McMullin became the most recent recipient of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Science Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Dr. McMullin has been teaching at Acadia University in various capacities since 1992. He has been invaluable to the Department of Earth and Environmental Science. He is also a proud Acadia alum after doing his MSc with Dr. Sandra Barr before doing PhD at UBC.
Instructors engage more with students than any other faculty position on campus and they make a real difference in the lives of our future alumni. Particularly valuable are instructors that can teach and inspire a wide range of student across faculties, Dr. McMullin is one of the absolute best!
He has taught 17 different courses in the department (whole or parts) and his lab and field teaching has been key to our programming. His range as a teacher is a rare gift – he has taught almost everything the Department offers at one time or another!
In addition to being an exceptional teacher Dr. McMullin is also the creator of our striking Department displays, the guru of all things computer, the curator of all our equipment, and the organizer of laboratory material, a valued member of university committees throughout campus, and a thesis and research supervisor! There is nothing in the Department that Dr. McMullin has not been involved in, and we appreciate his contributions more than we can say!
Congratulations Dr McMullin, and a huge THANK YOU for your contributions to EES!
