Visit by Tim Fedak, Nova Scotia Museum

The department was pleased to host Dr. Tim Fedak, Nova Scotia Museum, for an informative lecture about Ebenezer Harding, a geological pioneer in Nova Scotia and physician in Windsor. Through letters written by Harding, Tim has been able to trace his interactions with other giants of Geology in the mid 19th Century, including J. W. Dawson, and his hosting of Charles Lyell during his visit in 1842.

While he was here, Tim had the opportunity to examine some of our historical fossil collection, several of which carry labels written by George M. Dawson, T. Weston, and Joseph B. Tyrrell.

Tim provided a report on his visit and examination of the collection, which can be accessed here.
