EES and ESST at Science Atlantic Environment Conference

We are very proud of the twelve students from Environmental Science and Environmental and Sustainability Studies (ESST) programs who attended the Science Atlantic Environment Conference last week (March 20-22, 2025) at Mount Allison University with Dr. Nelson O’Driscoll.  Gretchen McPhail (MSc ENVS), Taya Lucas Desmond (BScH ENVS) and Lerena Ashevak (BA ESST) gave oral presentations and Abbey Smith (BScH ENVS), Lucy Harper (BA ESST) and Karissa Graham (BA ESST) gave poster presentations.

A keynote address was given by Dr. Zoe Panchen (Acadia U) entitled the “Canadian Arctic Environment and The Impacts of Climate Change”. The Saturday night banquet featured a rousing group trivia challenge. Students stayed at the beautiful Beaubassin research station and enjoyed seeing the dykelands and birding between conference sessions.

We are looking forward to hosting this conference at Acadia March 13-15, 2026!
