Dr. Steven Edwards visits Acadia University
On January 12th, Dr. Steven Edwards, Faculty Lead in Geospatial Data Analytics at the Centre of Geographic Sciences at Lawrencetown, NS, and adjunct professor at Acadia gave an entertaining and informational presentation to a large audience that packed Huggins 336 to standing room only. His far-ranging talk entitled “The Impact of Geospatial Sciences on Archaeological Research in the Near East: Reflections, Challenges, Future Directions” took us not only Jordan but to the past and future for archeological research. Dr. Edwards has close connections to some Acadia students in his role as Faculty Lead at COGS for the MSc in Applied Geomatics graduate program at Acadia. His visit to Acadia was part of a Maritime lecture tour jointly sponsored by Science Atlantic and the Atlantic Geoscience Society.
