Gold exploration in Ghana

Leslie write: "This summer, I have been working on my MSc thesis, integrating zircon and geochemical data to better understand the provenance of the Rockville Notch Group and the Meguma terrane’s geological connection to West Africa. I also got to return to Ghana for a little “geo-vacation,” where I was involved in gold exploration in the Bibiani-Sefwi Greenstone Belt, which contains rocks of similar Eburnean ages to those observed in the Meguma terrane. It has been exciting to work on geology that connects both sides of the Atlantic."
