Summer was busy for EES students and faculty. Read about some of the work students were involved in this summer!

 

The annual Welcome BBQ for the department took place on September 5th, thank you to our Environmental Science Students Association (ESSA) for hosting the BBQ along with the Fletcher Geology Club. It was great to see so many first-year students come out to meet people in the department.

Over the next few weeks we will be featuring posts about summer activities of department members as we welcome everyone back to a new academic year.

Alexis Armstong (Acadia BSc Geology, 2012) subsequently completed both an MSc in Geology and MBA at Queen’s University. She had a diverse career that included gold exploration, 3-D modeling, underground production, and working as a marine technician for Texas A&M's International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP). She is passionate about advocacy and women's representation in non-traditional roles (STEAM & Trades): creating Peggy Workwear and the sister-brand the Smoko Podcast.
