·        Leaves larger than those of quaking aspen

·        Dark green above-paler below

·        Bark furrowed near base becoming smooth towards the top

Habitat:

·        Lighter soils

·        Easily spread seeds

Distribution:

·        Not common

·        Stand found close to cow pasture
