Common Lilac
Description:
· Ornamental shrub/persists indefinitely once planted
· Leaves are simple and oval with sharply tapering pointed tips, petioles being roughly half the length of the leaf
· Flowers are most commonly lilac-purple in dense panicles about 10-20 cm tall
· Occasionally flowers are white in colour
· Flowers fragrant
