Thin and polished section manufacture
Thin and polished sections are made here at Acadia on a "commercial" basis. Billing will be done through the department, and payments will be made to Acadia University.
Prices are $20 for each regular thin section with cover slip, and $36 for each polished thin section, assuming that cut sample chips of standard size are submitted. A modest extra charge will be made for larger material that has to be slabbed to prepare sample section chips, depending on the size and nature of the material.
"Normal" turnaround time is expected to be about 1 month. "Rush" orders are possible depending on workload for an additional 50% of the cost.
